FAQ & aftercare

Questions,
answered

Everything about prepping, rinsing, and keeping your color — plus the questions we get asked most.

Before your tan

How should I prep?

Shave or wax 24 hours ahead, exfoliate the night before with an oil-free scrub, and arrive with bare skin — no lotion, deodorant, makeup, perfume, or SPF.

Anything sitting on your skin acts as a barrier, and that's where uneven color comes from.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Loose, dark clothing and flip-flops. Tight waistbands, bra straps, jeans, and socks press into developing color and can leave marks before you rinse.

How far ahead of an event should I book?

Two days before, not the day of. Color keeps developing after you leave, and it looks and photographs its best once it has settled.

For a wedding, book a trial run a few weeks out so there are no surprises on the day.

What do I wear during the tan?

Entirely up to you. Most people go without, some wear a dark bikini or underwear they don't mind. It's a private room, there's no wrong answer, and nothing about it is awkward.

Can I get a tan on my period, or while pregnant?

On your period, yes — it makes no difference to the tan.

Pregnant or nursing, the standard advice is to check with your doctor first. Plenty of clients do it; we just don't give medical advice.

In the studio

How long does the appointment take?

About 30 minutes door to door on your first visit, and that includes the consultation where we mix your color and walk through aftercare. Repeat visits move faster.

What solution do you use?

Premium, skin-loving solutions, custom-blended for every single client. There's no house shade — your blend is mixed for your skin tone, your undertones, and how dark you actually want to go.

Your blend goes on a card afterward, so the next one starts exactly where this one left off.

Will I look orange?

No. Orange comes from the wrong undertone for your skin, or a solution that's too dark for how it's applied. Both are choices made during the mix, which is why we start with your skin instead of a menu of three shades.

I'm very pale and I've never done this. Is that fine?

It's the most common first appointment we take. We'll start a level or two lighter than you think you want and build from there next time — you can always come back, and you can't undo too dark.

Do you come to me?

Yes — Glow on the Go is a mobile tan at your place, $85. Travel is free within 15 miles of 63052 and $0.50 per mile beyond that, covering Jefferson County, St. Louis County, and St. Louis City.

After your tan

When do I rinse?

Three to four hours, and we'll set your exact time in the room based on the depth you're going for and the solution we mixed. You'll leave knowing when to get in the shower — don't guess from something you read online.

What does the first rinse look like?

Warm water only, no soap and no scrubbing, until the water runs clear. The color washing off is the cosmetic bronzer, not your tan. Pat dry with a towel instead of rubbing.

How long does it last?

Seven to ten days with good aftercare. Moisturize morning and night, keep showers short and warm, and stay out of long hot baths, chlorine, and hot tubs.

Day two is your best day.

What makes a tan fade early?

Hot water, exfoliating scrubs, bar soap, chlorine, salt water, and anything with a high alcohol content. Shaving also takes color off — do it gently and less often than usual.

Can I work out?

After your first rinse, yes. Before it, sweat can streak developing color — so schedule the gym before your appointment, not between the tan and the shower.

Do I still need sunscreen?

Yes. A sunless tan gives you color, not protection. Wear SPF exactly like you would without it — and it'll help your tan last, since burning peels color right off.

Booking and policies

Where exactly are you?

1324 Jeffco Blvd in Arnold, at the back of the State Farm building. Drive around to the back for our private entrance and look for the Spray All Day sign.

How do I book?

Everything is online and by appointment only. If a slot is showing on the calendar, it's available — there's no waitlist to join.

How much does it cost?

The Custom Tan is $55 and The Hydrating Tan is $65. Glow on the Go, our mobile service, is $85.

The Clique members pay $30 a month and get 50% off all tans and services, a free birthday spray, and 10% off retail.

What's your cancellation policy?

Move or cancel up to 24 hours before your appointment using the link in your confirmation — there's no charge.

Any cancellation made after that point is charged 50% of the appointment total. No-shows are charged 100%.

Can I bring a friend, or book a group?

Yes. Book each person their own slot back to back so everyone gets the full consultation. For bridal parties or larger groups, text 314-329-1610 first and we'll block the time properly.

Do you tan clients under 18?

Yes, with a parent or guardian booking the appointment and present for it. Prom season fills weeks ahead, so book early.

Making it
last

What to expect, and what to do, from the moment you leave the studio.

01

Until your rinse

Stay dry and loose. No sweating, no swimming, no tight clothes. The bronzer on top is not the finished color.

02

First rinse

Warm water only until it runs clear. No soap, no scrubbing, no washcloth. Pat dry — don't rub.

03

Days 1 to 5

Moisturize morning and night. Short, warm showers. Skip exfoliants, bar soap, and hot tubs entirely.

04

Days 6 to 10

Keep moisturizing as it softens. When you're ready to reset, exfoliate fully — then rebook.
